Over nearly two decades of design practice, we have honed our co-create process with clients, and internally. When you work with us, we support building clarity and heirarchy for the project goals that respect a budget. We’ll help build the right team for a healthy owner-architect-builder triad that honors accountability and leads to the highest quality and success. As the owner’s advocate, always, we foster alignment through clear communication, earning trust. We guide you through a transparent, milestone-based design journey—ensuring that vision, expectations, and investment remain in sync.

Specializing in heirloom mountain, ranch, farm, and equestrian properties, we will work with to to take a project from a blank slate and a dream through site planning, design, permitting, construction documents, and architectural interiors. We’re there as your advocate through construction.

 

DESIGN TEAM

Laura Marion is the principal architect, founder, and creative director of Flight Architecture.

Inspired first, foremost and always by the natural landscape, Laura is dedicated to place-sensitive designs with a more-with-less approach to get projects off the ground. She weaves forward-looking design and sustainable building practices with historic forms of the Rocky Mountain west. She guides the studio to develop motifs, details and materials that answer the landscape to result in an heirloom property designed to last for generations, less the frills.

Laura comes from a long line of architects and interior designers practicing in Colorado; design was in the atmosphere of her upbringing. Laura is a licensed architect with a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver, with undergraduate training in fine arts from Oxford University. She has been practicing architecture since 2008, and has found her passion curating the architectural and interiors experience for rural and ranch properties rooted in family, history and the story of the land.

Laura had the privilege of practicing with Surround Architecture of Boulder before founding Flight Architecture. Laura splits her time between Steamboat Springs and Boulder Colorado with her husband, and two children.

Francis brings a passion for environmentally sustainable design along with sophisticated style for residential architectural design. Francis is a licensed Architect with a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver. Designing in both digital and old-fashioned pen and trace, Francis layers experience and training in climate-driven design, space planning, and decades of existing building analysis, measuring and modeling from his past career to expertly craft residential architecture to stand the test of time.

As a conscientious communicator and project manager, Francis helps close the loop of design, budget and expectation with excellent documentation from start to finish of a design and construction project.

Francis is also a sailor, professional musician, husband and father, and resides in Littleton with his wife and son.

Architect

Alison is an Art Institute of Chicago-trained, experienced interior designer and home stylist specializing in bespoke interior experiences that reflect the values, history and uniqueness of each property. She draws inspiration from her extensive travels both domestically and abroad. She brings a love for rich materiality and antiques, and the empathy, project management, and communication to match her client’s objectives with styles and selections for an outstanding, timeless results.

Alison owns and operates her own interiors firm, Weaverbird Home, and has teamed up with Flight Architecture to create a beginning-to-end design experience for heirloom equestrian properties and ranches, borne out of a shared passion for ranches and the Rocky Mountain west.

Under Weaverbird Home, Alison continues to curate stunning custom interiors in Colorado and beyond, with projects in Illinois, South Carolina, Arizona, and Michigan. Alison is an avid equestrian and outdoorsperson and understands the allure and majesty of the wide-open spaces. She splits her time between Boulder, Colorado and Petoskey, Michigan with her two dogs, husband and child.
